5 Things To Do In The Tri-Cities Area

The Tri-Cities area which includes Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, and Port Moody is a beautiful area situated just underneath the mountains towards the North-East of Vancouver. Outdoor activities dominate this community because of it’s access to so much beautiful green space. Here are 5 things to do in the Tri-cities area!

1. Hiking:

The Tri-cities is a beautiful area situated underneath the mountains to the North-East of the downtown core. With such close access to the mountains and surrounding areas there are a myriad of amazing hikes with varying difficulties for residents to enjoy. Some of our favourite hikes include around Bunzten Lake, Swan Falls, the Coquitlam Crunch, hike to Jug Island, and the Woodland Walks Trail.

2. Tanning & Swimming:

It’s summertime and everyone is looking to have the perfect tan and a place to cool off. There are several beautiful lakes and beaches to be enjoyed in the area. Some of our personal favourites are Buntzen Lake and White Pine Beach located in Anmore and Port Moody. You can also check out the coquitlam river for another place to get your swim on.

3. Beer Tasting:

There’s nothing quite like a cold beer on a hot summer’s day! Summertime is the perfect time to check out the local breweries and do a beer tasting. Brewers Row located in Port Moody across from Rock Point Park is home to several brewery companies including Yellow Dog Brewing, Twins Sails Brewing, The Parkside Brewery, and Moody Ales.

4. Outdoor Sports:

The Tri-Cities area is located in the perfect spot to participate in various outdoor sports and activities. Coquitlam is home to some of the most beautiful golf courses in the lower mainland area. Shooting at gun ranges is another popular activity in the community. If Gold or shooting isn’t your thing then hit the lakes for kayaking or the mountains for some mountain biking trails. 5. Blow Dry & Champagne at Ashton Lane Hair Company:

Of course one of our favourite things to do is come down to the salon on the weekend and get a blow dry and style done for a evening on the town. While you enjoy some pampering for you hair and scalp, sip on a glass of champagne or wine to complete your weekend relaxation time.
